Cairn is well positioned to continue to expand our operations with a highly attractive, wholly owned land bank of c. 17,000 units across 35 residential development sites. We are active on 16 sites in the Greater Dublin Area which will deliver over 6,750 new homes with a number of new site commencements anticipated over the next 6-12 months.

Cairn Homes plc has a unique opportunity for a high calibre ESG Analyst to join a growing team in our endeavours to become a more sustainable organisation. Reporting into the Research Economist with a cross functional brief, this role is responsible for coordinating internal data collection, researching environmental and social issues, and enhancing the sustainability focus of the company.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collecting, maintaining, and analysing quantitative and qualitative data for internal and external sustainability and ESG reporting and communications.
  • Supporting effective data management and strategic decision-making by building and maintaining databases, developing data management protocols, creating dashboards, and staying abreast of new tools and innovations.
  • Research good practice in terms of improving the sustainability of our business – seeing what we can learn from other Organisations and sectors.
  • Support the Sustainability Steering Group to co-ordinate policies and procedures and assist in the roll out of new initiatives
  • Provide a range of administrative and project support functions to help the team produce and begin to deliver a sustainability strategy.
  • Partner with the broader functional teams to develop policies and procedures for making the Organisation/sector as green as possible in line with the specific Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Help improve sustainability within the supply chain through supporting the evolution of an ethical procurement policy and improved contract management.
  • Implementation and ongoing monitoring of relevant policies, objectives, and governance structures, championing best practice measures in support of the ESG agenda.
  • Working closely with management, external agencies and awarding bodies to ensure the achievement of all targets and objectives.
  • Collating environmental and social data reports such as the Annual Report.
  • Formulating and delivering appropriate communication and engagement with all key stakeholders.

The candidate;

  • At least one years' experience in ESG research or investment
  • or:
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar Sustainability role within Real Estate or Construction
  • BA/BSc or Master's qualification in a relevant discipline (Economics, Mathematics, Renewable Energy Engineering, Environmental and/or Energy Management)
  • Strong interest in environmental and social issues, with a passion for driving sustainable change
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Proven experience in creating and deploying ESG programmes and initiatives in a corporate setting is desirable
  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record in stakeholder communications and engagement
  • Excellent organisational skills and report writing ability with strong attention to detail
