The site extends to c. 28 ha of brownfield and greenfield land, and is zoned predominantly for residential development in both the South Dublin Development Plan and the Newcastle Local Area Plan. The site has a number of connection points along Newcastle Main Street and is within walking distance of local schools and shops. Newcastle is located less than a 10 minute drive away from Greenogue Business Park, City West, Hazelhatch/Celbridge train station, the N7, a selection of golf courses, and the Lyons Estate.
