Dedicated Delivery Team

Our building operations employ a wide array of different tradespeople, led by a dedicated Site Management Team on each project. Our Site Manager, supported by general and finishing foremen, site engineer, safety officer and quantity surveyor takes great pride in overseeing the works to ensure well managed sites with leading environmental and safety practices, championing best practice in quality management and programme delivery.

Cairn recognise the sensitive environments within which our construction operations take place. We conduct our day-to-day operations in an environmentally efficient manner and with consideration to our neighbours in surrounding communities.

Safety Comes First

Safety is at the core of how our construction sites operate.  Our Safety Management System starts with our Company Safety Statement, and is overseen by our Group Safety Manager and his team of project Safety Officers. As the Main Contractor on its sites, Cairn undertakes the role of Project Supervisor Construction Stage on its projects and is directly responsible for development of the construction Health and Safety Plan.

Each of our Site Managers undergoes the Managing Safely for Construction training programme.

Safety awareness and practice starts at the site gate where each person working on site must complete a project-specific Safety Induction prior to commencing. The safety process on each site includes Safety Tool-Box Talks, Contractor Safety Meetings, and weekly audits and inspections. A strict process of warnings and corrective action notifications is activated in the case of non-compliance.

Safety Behaviour and Culture on Cairn sites is influenced by periodic on-site visits by senior company personnel for the purpose of Safety Observations. Safety Performance data is reported to the Group Executive on a monthly basis across the portfolio of projects.

Cairn Homes Construction Ltd has been awarded the Safe T Cert accreditation as from 26th May 2016.  Safe-T-Cert is a construction sector specific safety management system accreditation. The Scheme’s objective is to improve health and safety management by providing objective standards and certifying those contractors whose safety management systems have been assessed.
