At Cairn, we believe that everyone can play a part in creating a better future. That’s why we’ve partnered with our friends at Children’s Books Ireland to curate a library of books that encourage creativity and inspire ideas for caring for our planet, homes, places, and communities.
Inspiring The Future
Since 2019 Cairn and Children's Books Ireland have worked together to promote the joy of reading and spark interest in construction and community through Book Clinics and more recently though our Building Communities initiative which creates reading lists and donates books to libraries in schools across Ireland.
The donated books feature stories of innovation and environmentalism, aiming to inspire ideas for caring for our planet, homes, places and communities. In addition to the books, each school will receive copies of the Building Communities reading guide, helping teachers and pupils explore the titles and topics featured.
Building Communities Reading Guide
A reading list for ages 0–12, designed to inspire building the homes, places and communities of tomorrow.
The Building Communities 2023 reading guide is inspired by Cairn’s Seven Mills, the largest residential development in Ireland – a new town in Dublin 22 which, when complete, will be home to over 15,000 people. With the construction of Seven Mills underway, Cairn and Children’s Books Ireland have collaborated on a reading list of thirty-four titles aimed at engaging young people as the project unfolds and becomes part of their future.
