Maynooth is not just an ideal location for third-level students; two secondary schools and four primary schools (including an Educate Together and a Gaelscoil) ensure there’s a choice of educational facilities for every member of the family. A Gaelcholaiste is scheduled to open in Maynooth, in September 2020.
Maynooth is home to two third-level institutions: St Patrick’s College, Ireland’s main Roman Catholic seminary, and Maynooth University, which is part of the National University of Ireland. Boasting over 13,000 enrolled students enrolled and over 900 staff from over 20 different countries, Maynooth University is Ireland’s smallest but fastest-growing university.

Ashbourne has a lot to offer when it comes to leisure and sports facilities including 4 golf clubs (Killeen Castle, Saint Margaret's Golf & Country club, Corrstowns Golf Club & Ashbourne Golf Club). Outside of golf, Fairyhouse Racecourse is only a short spin away, as well as thriving GAA, soccer, rugby and cricket clubs all located in the town.
Co. Meath has an abundance of tourist/recreational attractions in the county, and Ashbourne is home to the famous Tayto Park Theme Park & Zoo - a favourite amongst locals.
Maynooth town centre is a bustling retail hub, with everything you might need for modern life. As well as branches of SuperValu, Aldi and Lidl, the town is home to two main shopping centres – Manor Mills contains a large Dunnes Store as well as other high street names like Easons and Elvery’s Sports, while Carton Park includes a Tesco Extra Store as well as Next and Boots.
Sports and Entertainment
For golfers, Carton House Golf Club is located close to Mariavilla, and incorporates the Golfing Union of Ireland’s National Academy, as well as two famous courses. Rugby, soccer, GAA, athletics and horse riding are also well established in the area, with clubs offering sporting fun for every member of the family.
