Christmas is fast approaching and we’re getting into the festive spirit! We’ve rounded up the best Christmas experiences beside our developments – book your places now!


Albany, Killiney

Head to Airfield Estate in Dundrum for their annual Christmas Experience, which this year runs until 23rdDecember. This traditional event includes festive face painting, storytime and gifts with Santa, cookie decorating in the Elves’ Kitchen, hot chocolate with festive toppings and a magical trip on the North Pole Express. The Estate is supporting Team Hope this year, and all families who attend the Christmas Experience and donate a new toy will receive a free family picture on Santa’s sleigh (usual price €10). Churchfields, Ashbourne

Santa is arriving to Tayto Park on 1stDecember, and will be setting up camp in his grotto until 23rd December. This year’s Santa Experience includes entry to the Eagles Nest Adventure Zone, in which 11 activities will be available. Children can enjoy Christmas-themed arts & crafts and face painting, and a 5D Christmas movie, before hopping on the train to visit Santa’s Grotto and meet the elves. Elsmore, Naas

The five-star Palmerstown House Estate has welcomed back Santa’s House Express for the fifth year running. Santa is back in his beautiful manor home for the weeks coming up to Christmas, and is joined by Mrs Claus, the elves and Archie. The experience begins with a trip on Santa’s Polar Express Train through the beautiful grounds of Palmerstown House Estate. At Santa’s manor home, you can meet some new characters before visiting Mrs Claus in her sitting room for stories. Then it’s time to meet Santa in his reading room! Afterwards, visit the stables to meet the reindeer, stroll through the Enchanted Fairy Forest, and enjoy the festival funfair. Tickets can be booked at


Glenheron, Greystones

Avoca at Powerscourt House in Enniskerry has long been acknowledged as one of the nicest Christmas experiences for all the family. Adults can relax with a coffee or snack in the Terrace Café, while the little ones get to meet Santa and Mrs Claus – even Santa’s animals will be there at the stables in Powerscourt Garden Pavilion. From deer, miniature donkeys and pygmy goats to rabbits and guinea pigs, children and adults can enjoy a visit to the stables, free of charge. Plus there’s gift shopping, delicious food and free parking, as well as the beautiful Powerscourt Gardens where you can finish off your visit with a crisp winter walk. Tickets can be booked at



Marianella, Rathgar

No Dublin Christmas would be complete without a trip into the city centre after the sun has gone down. There’s something truly special about our main shopping streets at Christmas, even for the more jaded and cynical among us. Simply hop onto the Luas from our Marianella development and you’ll come straight into Stephen’s Green and the magical lights of Grafton Street. Take in the beautiful shop windows; visit Santa at the Jervis Centre, Arnotts or the Ilac Centre; catch the iconic Moving Crib; book tickets for the panto at the Olympia or the Gaiety; or visit the Dublin Christmas Flea Market. Parkside, Balgriffin

Head up the road to beautiful Malahide Castle & Gardens for this year’s Christmas Experience, which runs from Saturday 1stDecember to Sunday 23rdDecember. Visit Santa and Mrs Claus in their cosy grotto in the enchanted surrounds of Malahide Castle, before touring the rooms to meet some of their special friends, who this year include Robin Hood, Maid Marian & Friar Tuck. Tickets includes visit to Santa and Mrs Claus, tour of the castle with special guests, age-appropriate gift, and mulled wine and mince pies for the adults. Shackleton Park, Lucan

For something a little different but just as magical, take a trip into Dublin Zoo this Christmas for this year’s Wild Lights. Dive into an Ocean of Light with an entirely new cast of illuminated giant silk lanterns celebrating the wonders of the life aquatic. From giant squid to polar bears, penguins, colossal blue whales and dainty seahorses, Dublin Zoo has again been transformed into a world of illumination with lanterns tailor-made for this year’s event.
